Kurama finished unpacking the last of the boxes in his new dorm. With a sigh, he looked around at all the reminders of home. The sweater his mother had made him, the flask that Kuwabara had gotten him for his 21st birthday since apparently that was the legal drinking age in the States. He hadn't been in the New York University dorm more then a week and he was already home sick. He felt so alone here. He had a very good grasp on the English language, except maybe some of the slang he had heard recently. Then again, what he had heard were things he didn't really care to understand, like Swag or Yolo. He could fear his inner Yoko's ears pop up every time they said the later one and it amused him. He knew with his grasp of the English language, making friends wouldn't be difficult, just tedious. He missed his old friends. He still talked to them online, but it wasn't the same. He missed seeing Kuwabara and Yusuke getting stupidly drunk and making fools of themselves. He missed Keiko taking care of them, despite Botan encouraging them. But most of all...he missed Hiei. He had never admitted it to Hiei, but Kurama felt strongly about the smaller demon. Isn't that the understatement of the year... Yoko teased him, begin more like a subconscious by this point. Kurama, or more like Shuichi, rolled his eyes and blushed. He didnt hate the idea of possably being Homosexual. He knew he loved Kuronue back in the day, but in this life, things were a little different. He had shown an interest in Botan for a bit, but she didnt seem to feel the same way. But Hiei. No one effected him like Hiei did. There was just something about Hiei that Kurama just...wanted...no, Needed. Sighing again, Kurama lifted himself from the floor and began breaking down the boxes and contimplated the classes he would be starting in the morning. He didnt know how Americans felt about "exchange students". So he was...anxious.
Suddenly a noise broke him from his thoughts, a bird on the window perhaps? But that was all he needed to snap out of it and feel the large energy source that seemed way to close for comfort. Not like a power plant, but spiritual energy. Cautiously, Kurama downed his coat, september being a bit chillier here, and stepped outside.
